Harry H. "Pete" Knox

Harry H. (Pete) Knox, beloved father of Jennifer Knox, Peter (Joanne) Knox, Paul Knox, David (Kelly) Knox, and Katherine Knox. Dear brother of Barbara Knox. Cherished grandfather of Heather, Ashley, Joie, Sarah, and Laurel. Loving great-grandfather of five. Preceded in death by parents Walter F. and Florence (nee Hopson) Knox and sister, Nancy Jennings. Pete passed away January 31, 2016, at age 87. Memorial gathering will be private.

Pete was born in Buffalo, NY, and raised in Meridan, CT. He was a MP in the Army, and he graduated from the University of Vermont where he majored in Business Administration. He was very active in sports, and excelled in baseball as a first baseman. Pete married in 1953, and raised a family of five wonderful children.

After many moves throughout the U.S., Pete retired from American Airlines after 35 years of service, and settled in Cincinnati to enjoy his retirement. Pete had many hobbies including gardening, reading, cooking, and particularly enjoyed crewel stitching while listening to The Irish Tenors and Luciano Pavaratti. He also enjoyed the peace and quiet at his lake house on Elmer Davis Lake in Kentucky.

Pete’s wit and love of life will be truly be missed by his friends and family.
