

Dr. Albert John Stratton, 88, of Wyomissing, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center. Dr. Stratton was the Director of Psychological Services at Wernersville State Hospital from 1979 until 1990. He had been Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine for 25 years prior to coming to Wernersville.
Born on September 25, 1926 in Edwardsville, Luzerene County, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Audrey (Hughes) Stratton. He was a direct descendent of George Boone, one of the first settlers of Berks County. Dr. Stratton was a graduate of Bucknell University and received his doctorate from Western Reserve University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church, Reading.
Surviving are two nieces, Linda Lamoreaux of Manhattan, NY and Nancy Lamoreaux and her husband, Angel D. Negron of Kenilworth, NJ and a great nephew, Steven Negron of Kutztown. He is predeceased by his sister, Edith Lamoreaux. Services for Dr. Stratton are private.
