Allen "Butch" L. Roeder, 75, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Reading, PA on April 5, 1948, he was a son to the late Earl E. Roeder and Helen M. (Troxel) Roeder.
Butch dedicated an impressive 31 years of his life to the railroad as a laborer; working there until his retirement. He was a parishioner of West Wyomissing Chapel, a lifetime member of Victor Emmanuel Beneficial Society and a member of the former Liberty Fire Company.
In his leisure time, Butch found joy in simple pleasures, particularly completing crossword puzzles. A sports enthusiast, Butch's heart belonged to the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and he would passionately cheer for his teams, finding camaraderie with fellow fans.
Above all, Butch's greatest love was reserved for his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a doting grandfather. Family gatherings were a source of immense joy for him, and his warm presence and infectious laughter created a lasting bond that will be cherished by those who were blessed enough to have known him.
Butch's spirit will be carries on by his beloved wife, Olwen V. (Baldwin) Roeder; his daughter Jamie Shapiro; and his 2 sons Chad Roeder and Jason Lentz. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his sister Gloria Reider and his 2 brothers Earl Roeder and Raymond Roeder.
A viewing for Butch will be held Monday, March 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Funeral service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 12:00 PM, with pastor Brett Reider officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
