

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Irvin and Ava Gertrude (Heckman) Rothenberger.
He was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.
Hon was employed for 40 years in the Pontiac Assembly line and later as a welder for Dana (Parish Division) Corporation in Reading, PA. After an early retirement he worked with his mother-in-law managing Murrell Inn and Trailer Park in Ephrata, PA.
He was a 1940 graduate of Muhlenberg High School where he was an all-star, three-sport athlete playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. He was a member of Salem Shalter's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. He was a member of the Reading-Berks Basketball "Old-Timers" and an active member of the Temple and Goodwill Fire Companies where he bowled, shot pool, and played golf. Although he took up golf relatively late in his life, he boasted 11 holes-in-one and many tournament trophies.
He is survived by his daughters, Pat wife of Richard Zezeski of Chesapeake, VA., and Lee A Gibbs of Hickory, NC. He was very proud of his 5 grandchildren: Benjamin A Gibbs of Richmond, VA., Abigail A Zezeski of Miles City, MT., Anna C Gibbs of Charlotte, NC., Nathan L Gibbs of New York, NY, and Julie E Zezeski of Annapolis, MD.
Services will be Saturday August 29, 2015 at 11am in Auman's Inc Funeral Home 390 W Neversink Rd., Reiffton with the Reverend Lesley Hand officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Saturday 930-11am in the funeral home. www.aumansinc.com
