

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 12, 1926 Barbara was the daughter of the late Bentley B. Farr and Nora Ingram Farr. She was raised in Cowesett, Rhode Island and was a graduate of Lockwood High School in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She received a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design.
She was a loving wife and mother of five children, a talented artist and a volunteer for several nonprofit organizations in the Reading area, including serving as president of the Hospitals Thrift Shop. She also served on the vestry of Christ Episcopal Church of Reading. In her later years Barbara traveled extensively in France, Italy and Mexico in pursuit of her interest in watercolor painting. Her artwork was displayed and sold at a number of local venues. She also was accomplished in sewing, knitting and needlepoint and was and an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. In her 30’s she was a champion skeet shooter.
Barbara is survived by her five children and seven grandchildren. They include Catherine M. Soussloff and her daughter Eugenia Clarke; Elizabeth S. Hoenemeyer and her children Nicholas and Laura Hoenemeyer; Andrew D. Soussloff, his wife Patricia and their daughters Caroline and Stephanie Soussloff; Margaret N. Soussloff, her husband Gian Lombardo and their son Carlo Lombardo; and Gregory B. Soussloff and his son Robert Soussloff. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Dimitri G. Soussloff in February 1993.
Funeral services and interment will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601, at 11:00 AM. Theo C Auman Funeral Home, Reading is entrusted with her services.
