Berta Richter, 89, of Douglassville, PA entered eternal rest on Monday, May 13, 2024. Born in Schag, Romania on October 25, 1934, she was a daughter to the late Nicholas Hoffmann and Anna (Schmidt) Hoffmann. In addition to her parents, Berta was greeted in heaven by her husband Erich Richter; her grandson Christopher Wambold and her 2 siblings Peter Hoffmann and Theresa Crawford.
Berta's spirit will be carried on by her son Erich P. Richter and his wife Annette, of Pottstown, PA; and her daughter Ingrid Richter, of Stewartsville, NJ. She also leaves behind her companion of 25 years Edward "Midge" Pauley; 3 grandchildren Bryan Wambold and his wife Kaela, Abigail Richter, and Alaina Richter; and 2 great grandchildren Lydia Wambold-Hazim and Norah Wambold to cherish her memory.
Berta dedicated 45 years as a skilled sewing machine operator at Sunset Manufacturing in Pottstown, retiring in 1996.
She was an avid bowler for over 50 years, known for her competitive spirit. Berta's athleticism extended beyond the lanes; she was active throughout her life, embracing physical activities with enthusiasm. She enjoyed watching all sports, and playing the harmonica. Her love for all types of flowers and gardening brought her great joy, and her gardens were a vibrant display of her dedication and care. However, above all else, Berta treasured spending time with her entire family and friends.
Rest in eternal peace, Berta. Your vibrant spirit and fun loving heart will remain with us always.
Services will be private and at the discretion of Berta's family.
