

Carlita Tolentino Spencer, age 87, of Birdsboro, PA, entered the Gates of Heaven on February 3, 2024, at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida to be reunited with her beloved husband, Joseph "Jody" Spencer.
Carlita, affectionately known as "Linda" was born May 24, 1936, in Bamban Tarlac, Philippines. Carlita was the daughter of the late Florentina Flores and late Anseimo Tolentino. She is survived by two children, Joseph T. Spencer (Helen), Chula, California and Lorena Spencer, Birdsboro, PA: three sisters: Orfelina Luna and Clara Pascual, of Bamban Tarlac, Philippines and Maria Anderson, Rialto, California; two sisters-in-law: Louise Williams, Mount Penn, PA and Claretta Bayard, Wyomissing, PA: eight grandchildren; Amor, Monica, Kellen, Patrice, Janelle, Jarred, Liezel, and Kira; two great-grandchildren: Ezekiel and Journey. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph A. Spencer, son, Leslie and daughter, Florentina Spencer; five sisters and one brother in Philippines; her in-laws; Elizabeth and Lester P. Spencer; sisters-in-law: Joyce Boykins, Shirley White, Mary and Hideko Spencer; brothers-in-law: Benjamin, Edward, Fredrick, Lester Spencer and McCrae Boykins Sr.
Carlita loved her family, friends, and making memories with them. She enjoyed family gatherings, celebrations and traveling to the Philippines. She had many hobbies: sewing, gardening, TIA CHE Aquatics, cooking Filipino food, and most of all, she loved bingo. She was an amazing mother, and devoted Christian. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church of Reading.
Carlita retired from AT&T Agere Systems as a Senior Operator, where she worked for over 25 years. She was known for her membership fo Sarah Jackson Chapter No. 74, Daughter of Mary Alice Temple, No. 108, I.B.P.O.E.W. and American Legion Auxiliary Post 962 George Washington Carver. Carlita was a beacon of strength and resilience. She lived a full, vibrant life and will be forever missed by all.
A Gathering will be on Friday, February 16, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 322 S. 5th Street, Reading, PA. Entombment to follow in Chapel St. George, Gethsemane Cemetery. The Spencer Family has entrusted arrangements to the care of Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn Street, Reading.
