

Born in Pottstown on November 15, 1928, Duke was a son of the late Luther and Violet (Covely) Yeager.
He is a proud veteran and served twice in the U.S. Navy and once in the U.S. Army. He discharged in August of 1952 as a Sgt. from the 97th AAA Gun Battalion.
Duke was employed with the City of Reading for 30 years as a foreman before retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the former Reading Hose Co., the Cannibal Club, Democratic Club, the Ingie Pingie Club and the Veterans of Foreign War in Reading.
Surviving are two children, Kerry D. Yeager and his companion, Carla Shean, of Fleetwood, and Korin A. (Yeager) Hurley and her husband, Garry, of Laureldale; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving is his sweetheart of 15 years, Patricia Learch of St. Lawrence; a half-brother, Russell "Rip" Yeager and his wife, Ursel, of Wildwood, NJ.; and a half-sister, Jeanette Hunsberger of Millmont; nieces; nephews and cousins.
Duke is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor I. (Pietrowicz) Yeager, whom passed away in 1971; a son, Kirk Yeager, whom passed away in 2013; and a great-grandson.
A graveside service for Duke will be Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606, where Military Honors will be accorded. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery entrance at 12:30 p.m. to form a funeral procession.
