

She was born in Snowshoe, PA, on December 20, 1924, a daughter of the late Howard W. and Hazel M. (Force) Solt.
Boots was employed as a candy packer by Godiva and as a waitress for King Cup and Berks Pizza. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, puzzles, bingo, card games, Conway Twitty, board games, wrestling, traveling with her friend, Lori. She was a collector of salt and pepper shakers and loved owls.
Edith is survived by her children: Mary Ann (Rupp), widow of Howard Phillips of Shoemakersville; Richard C., husband of Shirley Rupp of Muhlenberg; Joanne E. (Rupp), widow of Klas R. Carlson of Reading; Helen M. (Rupp), widow of Larry Kauffman of Sinking Spring; Robert D. Rupp of Shoemakersville; Thomas D., husband of Amy Rupp of Denver; Robin R. (Rupp), wife of Barry Dornes of West Lawn; Tina L. (Rupp), wife of Ronald Seyfert of Sinking Spring; and William C. Rupp, life partner of Jeffrey Montag-noli of Reading. There are 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, her niece, Shirley Mancuso, and several more nieces and nephews. Edith was predeceased by her children: Howard W. Solt, Ralph J. Rupp, Anna M. Rupp, and Herbert H. Rupp. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Helen Mayfield, Florence Chojnowski, Verna Moore, Madaline Grim and Marvin J. Solt.
Services will be Friday August 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Theo C. Auman, Inc. Funeral Home, 247 Penn Street, Reading. Burial to follow in Christ Little Tulpehocken Church Cemetery, Bernville. A viewing will be Thursday, August 8, 2013 7-9 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home.
