Ernest Leroy Moll Sr., 83, of Sinking Spring passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Born March 13, 1938 in Reading, PA he was a son to the late James O. Moll and Anna R. (Kohller) Moll.
Ernest was of the Lutheran faith and he worked as a tow motor operator at Hofmann Industries, Inc., for 40 years until his retirement in 2011.
Ernest was a hard-working man with a passionate love for the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, riding horses and more recently kayaking. If there was a card game to be played Ernest was in; he thoroughly enjoyed "cleaning house". He also liked dirt track racing and could often be found at the track on Saturday nights.
Ernest had the biggest heart and he would help anyone and everyone at any time. He would give the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it and he found it especially hard to say "No' to his grandchildren. You never saw a prouder man than when you saw Ernest looking at his family. He loved being a father, and grandfather, and was the leader of his family; always so present and patient.
Ernest's spirit will be carried on by his 6 adult children; Ernest Moll Jr., Randy Moll and his wife Joyce, Lonnie Moll Sr. and his wife Johanna, Stacey Werley and her husband Dennis, Tracey Shaub and her husband Brian and Cheri Lopez and her husband Angel. Ernest also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years; Nancy L. (Ochs) Moll and his son Michael Moll Sr.
A viewing for Ernest will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601. Prayer services will promptly commence in the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Abera Hellemo officiating.
