George Allen Jones

He was born in Littleton, NC, on September 15, 1937, a son of the late Arthur and Amanda (Atkinson) Jones. George was a graduate of Essex College, where he received an associate degree, and was employed by Unicast in Boyertown as a welder for 16 years, last working in 2006.

In addition to his wife, George is also survived by his daughter, Alfreda Mayo Jones of Reading; his step-daughter, Rochelle Peterson of Reading; his step-son, Eyrique Jr.; and his wife, Lisa Miller of S. Orange, NJ; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Barbara Powers-Jones, widow of Johnnie M. Jones of Reading; Territa Johnson, wife of Lawrence Johnson of NJ; Kim Morrison Nelson, wife of Tommy Nelson of Reading; Deidre Durham of Bensalem; brothers-in-law, Ivan Durham of NJ, Demetrius Durham; father-in-law, Henry Durham Jr. of NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

George was predeceased by his grandson, Darryl Jones; his siblings: Tinnie R. Jones, Johnnie M. Jones, Jessie C. Jones and Bessie C. Wingfield.

Services will be Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Theo C Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. A viewing will be Thursday, 10-11 a.m., in the funeral home.
