

George M. Mullarkey, 72, of Florida, formerly of Reading Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022. George is survived by his wife, Helen M. (Rupp) Mullarkey. He was born in Reading on January 9, 1950 a son of Loretta J. (Latshaw) Harris and the late George D. Mullarkey.
George served his country as a Air Force Veteran and his community as a Reading Firefighter for 20 years retiring in May 2000. He was also a park ranger for Berks County Park and a courier for Alachua Library in Florida. George loved drinking Rolling Rock, riding his H-D and his daily crossword puzzles. He was a lifetime member of Berkshire Heights Fire Co, in Wyomissing, lifetime member at FOE 3800 Eagle's Club, VFW Post #1590 and American Legion #120 all in Daytona Beach, FL. George was a Kyle Busch #18 M&M, Atlanta Falcons and Braves Fan.
Also surviving is his daughter, Kristin Mullarkey, brothers, David Mullarkey and Jamie Lorah, sister Lorri Grim, 6 grandchildren; Damian Billman, Matthew Thornburg, Benjamin and his wife Erin Ortiz, Edwin Ortiz, Kristin Faith Esterly and Gabrielle Mullarkey, and 2 great grandchildren; Layla Ortiz and Luna Billman.
George was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly (Mullarkey) Esterly.
A Memorial gathering of friends and relatives for George will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at GT Church, 1110 Snyder Rd, Reading, PA 19609, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
