Gerald Dwight Lloyd of Reading, PA, revered as a kind and loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Reading Hospital. Born at Fort Meade near Sturgis, SD, on April 14, 1936, to the late Harry Allen Lloyd and Dellamae Joy (Thebault) Lloyd, Jerry was known for his gentle strength, intelligence, selfless generosity, boundless creativity, and the unmistakably loving spirit he brought into the world.
Jerry’s life was centered on his deep and unwavering love for his wife and soulmate, Jeannette Marie (Trader) Lloyd. Married in 1958, Jerry and Jeannette shared 66 cherished years together. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Michelle Lloyd; his son, Stuart Lloyd, and his wife, Lynne; and his grandchildren, Jonathan and Cara.
Jerry’s legacy is defined by his strength, intelligence, generosity, and patience. He worked tirelessly and joyfully to support, protect, and guide his family. As a husband, his love was rooted in devotion and respect for Jeannette. As a father, he was present, supportive, and a natural role model. Despite life’s challenges, Jerry always put the needs of his wife and children before his own. The love he shared daily lives on in the hearts of his children and stands as a testament to his steadfast faith in God and the promises of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a prayer service for Jerry on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA. Graveside committal will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.

For decades, the dedicated staff of Barber Resources of Delaware Valley have provided Jerry’s daughter, Shelly, with exceptional care, protection, and support.
