

Born in Reading on January 19, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Daniel F. and Bernice M. (Gregory) Hiester.
She was employed with Burlington as a sales clerk for 10 years before retiring.
Helen was gregarious, fun loving person. She was a beam of sociability and was always interested in other people. She was a great cook and commanded control over her kitchen. Helen enjoyed traveling and her favorite destination was Hawaii.
Surviving is her stepson, James A. Hartman, of Leesport; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren and a stepdaughter-in-law, Chris Hartman.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Red and all ten of her siblings.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017, in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading. A viewing will be in the funeral home Monday from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
