

Born in Laurens, NY on December 11, 1942, he was a son of the late Lyman and Esther (Daniels) Dickenson.
He attended West Winfield School and married Marlene Dowley on January 15, 1961. Marlene preceded him in death in 1997.
Herb worked on the family farm in New York and the Tannery in West Exeter. After moving to Reading, he was employed with Ted Miller, Albert’s Gas Station as a mechanic and Davis Machinery Crane’s before he started his own business, Herbert Dickenson’s Crane and Heavy Equipment Repair.
He was a member of the Salisbury Ridge Runners and the East Herkimer Snow Riders. He enjoyed bowling, shooting eight ball, snowmobiling, camping, fishing and his later years, going to the casino’s.
Herb is survived by his children: son, Michael Todd Dickenson and his daughter, Alicia; daughter, Michelle Yvonne Dickenson and her children, Brandon, Ashley, Joseph and Amanda; son, Ronald LaVerne Dickenson and his children, Joshua, Jeffery and Jeremy; daughter, Shelia Kay (Dickerson) Morey and her husband, James and their children, Melissa Marie, Kayla and Bryanna; daughter, Joyce Catherine (Dickenson) Pedrick and her husband, Timothy and their children, Felicia, Anita, Cassie and Larissa; daughter, Tracy Carol (Dickenson) Huxtable and her husband, Gregg and their children, Zachary, Hannah and Samantha; daughter, Pamela Dickenson and her fiancé, Chris Butler and their children, Tyler, Dante and Emma.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and counting; three sisters, Beverly (Dickenson) Zombori, Benecia Dickenson and Janice (Dickenson) Fontaine; three brothers, Leonard Dickenson, Robert Dickenson and Wendell Dickenson, Sr. and several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and a great great nephew and niece.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Marlene; Herb is predeceased by four brothers, Roger, Joseph, Delos and Leroy Dickenson.
A memorial service for Herb is planned for Thanksgiving Day.
