Jane (Marie Wertz) Diener, 83 of San Diego, CA (formerly of Earlville, PA) passed away in the evening of Sunday, April 24. Her husband Arthur passed away February 1992. Jane was born in Reading, PA on August 14,1938 and grew up in Reading. The daughter of the late Nicholas and Elise Wertz. Jane graduated from Reading High School. She was last employed with Reading Eagle, retiring in 2003. After retirement, Jane moved to San Diego to live the retired life in sunny CA and be near her daughter Joan & son-in-law Rik.
Some of the best times in her life were ballroom dancing with the love of her life Arthur, traveling great distances to dance the night away with friends. For many years Jane & Art enjoyed working on their mini farm in Earlville. When Jane would visit with her twin sister Janet, they loved to sing along together & make people laugh. Jane was so proud to have “caught the marlin” with Rik in Cabo, San Lucas a few years ago. For those who knew Jane, knew she was very outgoing, loved meeting new people & carrying a conversation with anyone she met. She will be deeply missed.
Jane is survived by her daughter Joan, wife of Rik Sivula, and son Robert (Rob) Diener, husband of Christine (Tina) as well as several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased in death by husband Arthur, brother Ronald, sisters Emmajean, Joyce, and twin sister Janet.
Graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Thursday May 5, 2022, at 1:30pm. Anyone wishing to attend, please meet at the entrance to the cemetery. Auman Funeral Home of Reading is in charge of the services.
