

The most important thing to Jean was volunteering for the Head Start program. She was part of the Foster Grandparents Program for several years. Many people claim Jean as their grandmother for the care, patience and love she showed the children.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, painting, decorating and the DIY channel. Jean also loved her cat "PeeWee."
Jean is survived by two daughters, Julie A. Brossman and her husband, James W. of Schuykill Haven; and Terry J. Waid and her husband, David L., of Leesport; four grandchildren: Anthony Ranellone; Jon Ranellone; Lori Scheel and her fiancé, Steven Dougherty; and Ryan Schell; and a stepgrandson, Chad Brossman. Also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Everhart and her husband, Raymond, and Sandra Forte and her husband, Leonard; nieces; nephews; and a host of foster children.
A memorial service for Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foster Grandparent Program, mailed to: Berks County Area Agency on Aging, 633 Court St., Reading, PA 19601.
