Kathryn Sue Schaich, 73, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Berkshire Center. Born July 25, 1948 in Reading, PA she was a daughter to the late William Ammon and Florence Esther (Mengel) Swavely.
In addition to her parents & brother William Swavely, Kathryn was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband of 25 years, Dennis Schaich Sr.; whom preceded her in death on December 19,1999. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't mention how much she loved and missed him.
Kathryn's spirit will be carried on by her daughter Heather Speece and her husband Tony, of Shillington, her son Richard Schaich, of Bellefonte, PA; and her brother Allyn Swavely and his wife Elaine, of Muhlenberg. Kathryn also leaves behind granddaughter Kimberly Speece, grandson Tony Speece Jr. and her 2 granddogs Bear and Cookie to cherish her memory.
Kathryn worked at various places throughout the years including but not limited to; Brentwood Industries Inc. for almost 35 years and lastly working at Conestoga Wood Specialties, East Earl.
Kathryn liked being busy and did so with crocheting, ceramics painting and tending to her plants and flowers. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing and especially liked watching Law & Order: SVU and Blue Bloods.
Kathryn was a kind and gentle soul, who loved animals, especially Dachshunds. She had a heart of gold and would not hesitate to help anyone in need. Kathryn had a great sense of humor and a mega-watt smile that would brighten up any room she entered. However, above all else she truly treasured spending time with her family and especially loved creating memories with her grandchildren Kimberly and Tony Jr.
Family & friends will gather to celebrate Kathryn's life on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Auman's Inc., 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton, PA 19606.
