Lester Evans Young Jr.

Lester Evans Young Jr., 77, of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully to go home to his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Lester was born in Reading on June 21, 1945 a son of the late Lester E., Sr. and Betty J. (Johnson) Young.

Lester proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed by CarTech as a mechanical worker. In his older years, he enjoyed being a caddy at Berkshire Country Club and was a member of the Fisherman's Club. He loved fast cars and watching the news on the television.

Surviving are his 3 children; Lester E. Young, III, Heather (Young) Galvin and Grace Jackson, siblings; Manuel Young, Edward Young, William Young, Julian Young, Anthony Young, Patricia Lloyd, Gladys Young, Elwilda Young, 15 grandchildren; Lester E. Young IV., Demetrius Young, JaVon Young, Darius Young, Natalie Young, Jaya Young, Dia Coover, Dierdre Galvin, Dezire Galvin, Danielle Galvin, Deliah Galvin, Landon Whoolen, Langston Whoolen, Lawson Whoolen and Licoln Whoolen and 3 great grandsons; Jeremiah Santiago, Matthew W. Coover and Dillon M. Coover. Lester was predeceased by his brother, Juan Young and grandson, Dillon Galvin.

A viewing for Lester will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Theo C Auman, 247 Penn St, Reading, PA 19601, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be private.
