Born on May 22, 1951 in Montclair, NJ, Cindy was a daughter of the late Daniel Preston and Lucille (Harris) Nicholson. She was a graduate of Montclair High School and furthered her education at Seton Hall University in South Orange. She was a previous member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Reading and then in Mount Joy.
Cindy was a hard worker and was employed as a secretary at Seton Hall while attending. Later she joined friends in a catering business and was a private caretaker and babysitter for many. Lastly, she was employed with Desius and Westland Taxi Services in East Orange, NJ.
Cindy liked playing cards, especially solitaire. She collected Archie and Jughead comics books and enjoyed watching American Idol. Cindy loved singing and music.
Left behind to cherish her memory are four brothers: Kenneth B. Nicholson of Greensboro, NC, Dennis Nicholson and his wife, Cheryl of Baltimore, MD, Leroy P. Nicholson of Orange, NJ and Dale A. Nicholson of South Orange, NJ; a sister in law/caretaker, Louise (Donelson) Nicholson of Lancaster and an uncle, David Harris.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Cindy is predeceased by two brothers: Preston and Daniel Nicholson and a sister, Wendy G. Nicholson.
Home Going Celebration of Life services will be on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 3pm in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 3pm.
