

Margarita Maldonado, 79, of Reading, passed away peacefully in the Reading Hospital on Monday, January 20, 2014. She was the wife of the late Pedro Ganzalo Montanez; he passed away in 1988. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, on July 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Isidro Maldonado and Filomena Navarro.
Margarita was a faithful member of St. Peter the Apostle Church and enjoyed attending. She liked to dance, shop, travel and listening to Spanish Rappers. She was known by family and friends as a great cook. Margarita was very social and she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons: Rafael Montanez and his wife, Ruth M., of Reading; and Raul Montanez of Reading; two daughters: Norma Rodriguez and her husband, Oscar, of Ft. Myers, FL; and Maritza Carrion of Worcester, MA; many grandchildren, including Carlos Flores, Johanna Rodriguez, Jesus Her-nandez, Eddie Fernandez, Edwin Fernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Carlito Carrion and Jetmarie Rodriguez, and may great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Margarita will be on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Monday night. Burial is private in Charles Evans Cemetery.
