Mary Jane S Schaeffer

She was predeceased by her husband, Austin F. Schaeffer.

Mary Jane was born in Reading on Oct. 31, 1923, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Anna L. (Warmkessel) Shirey.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

She was a member of Grace Luthern Church of Reading and was employed by Beaumont, Heller, and Sperling as a mimeographer and later at the family business, Schaeffer Electric Construction Company, until retiring in 1992.

Mary Jane was a Past Worthy Matron for the 50th Anniversary of Reading Chapter 251 Order of the Eastern Star; Past Matron and Past Deputy of Lucile Court 92 Order of the Amaranth Inc.; Past Worthy High Priestess The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; and Past Regent of The Royal Arcanium.

She was also an avid Phillies fan and loved playing pinochle with family and friends.

She also served as a voter registration clerk.

Mary Jane is survived by her twin daughters, Marianne D., wife of Kevin C. Yoder, of Wyomissing, and Judithanne M. Loose, and her fiance Bryan D. Snyder of Robesonia.

There are two granddaughters, Lauren E. Loose and Emily A. Loose.

She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Shirey.

Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at noon in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home 247 Penn Street, Reading. Order of the Eastern Star services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Tuesday Oct. 23, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, 11 to noon at the funeral home.
