Norma Elizabeth Washington, 87, formerly of Reading, entered the heavenly gates on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Complete Care in Voorhees, New Jersey. She was born on November 17, 1938, in the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.
Norma was a faithful, spiritual woman of the Lord who devoted her life to service. She was employed at Spruce Manor as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 27 years, where she lovingly cared for others with compassion and grace. Her faith extended beyond her profession as she ministered in nursing homes and prisons, sharing her faith through love, prayer and song. A gifted gospel singer and songwriter, she recorded several CDs and performed at local nursing homes and community events, including those throughout Arizona.
Norma leaves to cherish her loving memory her three sons, Noel (Leslie) Washington, Errol Washington Jr. and his fiancée Michelle, and Russell Washington and his fiancée, Eisa; her seven grandchildren, Damian, Duane, Darien, Emoni, Marquise, Shayla, and Sofia; and her eight surviving siblings, Roger, Vera, Felix, Harold, Cleveland, and Garvin Washington, Heather Granville, and Audrey Solomon. She is also fondly remembered by Errol Small and family of Queens, New York.
Norma also leaves behind her beloved “partners in crime,” cousins and best friends, Grace Lawrence and Pat Grimshaw and her “adopted” daughter, Tia Jackson.
She will be joyfully reunited in heaven with her son, Curtis Washington, who preceded her in death in 2010.
