Patricia was born in Reading on October 1, 1946, daughter of the late Vincent P and Ruth E (Eidam) Skuczas.
She was a graduate of Reading High School and continued her education at State University of New York, Farmingdale.
A caregiver by nature, Patricia was a registered nurse for more than 45 years. She started her nursing career at Reading Hospital, caring for patients at the Reading Rehabilitation Center, Berks Heim, and Manor Care during her career.
While a member at Zion Spies Lutheran Church, Patricia taught Sunday school, participated in Bible Study, knitted prayer shawls, helped with visits and communion for homebound members, and could be found every summer working with the Bear Creek Day Camp. She was an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, played in the bell choir and the drum circle, helped plan and organize many church events, and practiced her faith by sharing her spirit with others, and giving her time, and creativity generously.
Patricia enjoyed many hobbies, including: knitting, sewing, crafting, and cooking, and she took pleasure in sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends. She was passionate about nature, and delighted in taking walks, watching birds and wildlife, tending to her garden, kayaking, and fishing. She loved jigsaw puzzles, and was always ready for a board game.
Above all, Patricia cherished her family. She was a loving Wife, Mother, MomMom, and GG. She was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren, and could be found cheering them on from the sidelines, stands, or audience. She enjoyed vacationing with family, whether to Disney or Lake Pocomoonshine or snow-tubing down a mountain, she carried childlike joy in her heart, enjoying every moment of time spent together.
She is survived by her children: Michael Klopp and his significant other Nicole Care, Amy and her husband Adam Prior, Patrick Meals and his wife Crystal, and Phyllis and her husband Daniel Gassert; her two siblings: Janet and her husband Dennis Mackley, and David Skuczas; her 13 grandchildren: Kody Klopp and his wife Faith, Dylan Klopp, Wyatt Klopp, Benjamin Prior, Eleanor Prior, Brandon Meals, Gary Meals, Ashleigh Blanyar, Derrick Blanyar, Jason Blanyar, Daxton Gassert, Tinley Gassert, and Savannah Care; her great granddaughter Thea Boyer; and her beloved rescue dog, Nico.
Services for Patricia will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty St, Shillington, PA 19607. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, and the Funeral Service will begin promptly at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Colleen Cox. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Rd, Reading, PA 19606.
