

Richard “Sweet” D. Bainbridge, 52, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was the loving husband of Erika S. (Berringer) Bainbridge. The couple shared 29 years together. After ten years together, they married on August 9, 1997.
Born in Reading on Christmas Eve 1963, he was a son of Leroy Frye and Wanda Bainbridge. He was raised and loved by the late William “Gus” Giddens. He was a 1982 graduate of Reading High School.
Sweet was employed with TIMET in Morgantown as a VAR operator for the last 10years. Prior to that he was employed with Graco Children‘s Products Inc. in Morgantown as an assembler for 15 years.
Sweet loved to play tennis. He also enjoyed playing and watching football and basketball. He was a lifetime Pittsburgh Steelers fan to all that knew him.
Sweet was a family man. He loved and touched many people with his kindness. He had a passion for music and loved to play the congas.
In addition to his wife, Erika and his mother, Wanda and father, Leroy; Sweet is survived by four brothers, Leonard “Lenny” L. Bainbridge and his wife, Betty Ann, Kareem D. Bainbridge, Tracey McCleary, who was raised as a brother and Eric Jefferson and his wife, Tressa, all of Reading; two sister, Kimberly L. Bainbridge and Schaleen T. Bainbridge, both of Reading; one half-brother, Neely Frye of Hershey, PA; three half-sisters, Gina Frye of Elkton, MD, Scotta Frye of Monmouth, NJ and Ashley Frye of Harrisburg; mother in law, Elizabeth Berringer of Reading; two brothers in law, Steven Peterdi and Larry Berringer and his wife, Carla, all of Reading and two sisters in law, Kathleen (Bosnyak) Trice of Reading and Eva (Berringer) Williams and her husband, Irvin of North Carolina. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.
Sweet is predeceased by a half-sister, Misha Chisolm and father in law, Warren Berringer.
Home Going service will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11am in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 10 to 11am on Tuesday. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
