Ruth Jeanette Schweitzer

She was born in Cumru Township on June 30, 1930 a daughter of the late Peter O. and Anna (Philips) Steffy. Ruth loved cooking and gardening and the friendship of her neighbors. She was known for baking 30 different varieties of Christmas cookies and sharing her talents with family and friends. Ruth was awarded "Beagle Scout" for transporting her son and fellow Boy Scouts to many of their adventures. Another talent of Ruth was crocheting her rose petal afghans which she would give to her close family and friends.

Surviving are her 3 children; Allen C. Schweitzer, Rockey L. Schweitzer and Paulette A. Bair and her boyfriend, Donald E. Beamesderfer, sister, Irene Jasinski, 3 grandchildren, Brian Schweitzer, Patrika Riebe and Daniel Heilman and 2 great grandchildren; Amaya Schweitzer and Isaac Schweitzer.

Ruth was predeceased by her son, Paul Richard Schweitzer.

Services will be Wednesday August 21, 2024 at 2pm in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W Neversink Rd., Reiffton. A viewing will be 1-2pm in the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.aumansinc.com for the Schweitzer family.
