Ruth Ann Haines Wilkinson

Ruth Ann (Haines) Wilkinson, 84, of West Lawn, passed away in the Reading Hospital following a brief illness in the Reading Hospital on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Howard T. Wilkinson.

Born in Conshohocken on October 24, 1933, Ruth was a daughter of the late John “Bob” and Helen (Abrams) Haines. She was graduate of Conshohocken High School where she was a cheerleader and captain of the girls basketball team.

Ruth attended Advent Lutheran Church in West Lawn. She was employed with the Highlands of Wyomissing for 15 years as the office manager before retiring. Prior to that, she was employed with ManorCare in West Reading as the Business Office Manager for 20 years and several years as a claims specialist with Aetna Insurance.

Ruth enjoyed knitting, reading and trips to the casino. Her real joy was her family.

Surviving is her daughter, Paula R. (Wilkinson) Rutt and her husband, Shawn of West Lawn and two grandchildren, Madison A. and Connor M. Rutt also of West Lawn.

Also surviving is a brother, Robert Haines of Jeffersonville.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Howard, Ruth is predeceased by a son, H. Jay Wilkinson and a sister, Margaret (Haines) Gersbach.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ruth will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Advent Lutheran Church, 16 Telford Ave., West Lawn, PA 19609. Family and friends will gather in the church on Tuesday at 11am.
