Sophia M. "Susie" Stewart 95, passed away Wednesday July 11, 2018 in Topton Lutheran Home. She was born in Reading on January 22, 1923 a daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Harrison) Stavropoulos.
Susie was a Reading High School graduate who was on the honor society. She was employed by Reading Commercial Heat Treating in Reading for over 20 years as an office manager, then Crystal Restaurant, and later Berks County Treasurers Office as a clerk. Susie was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, a lifetime member of Reading Community Players where she served as past president twice. Susie was on the board at Green Hills Theatre.
She is survived by her 2 sons; Gregory J and his wife Debra Stewart of State College, Alan and his wife Marilynn Stewart of Reading, 7 grandchildren; Shawn, Kate, Casey, Kelsey, Michael, Rachel, David, and 4 great grandchildren; Elias, Patrick, and twin boys, Quinn, and Lucas.
Susie was predeceased by her brother Ernie, and 2 sisters; Stella and Fritzie.
A Memorial Service will be Wednesday July 18, 2018 at 12:30pm in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W Neversink Rd., Reading. Inurnment to follow in Charles Evans Cemetery. A gathering will be Wednesday 11:30-12:30pm in the funeral home.
