

Terry L. Wentzel, 68, of Birdsboro, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 10, 2013 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Linda L. (Hallman) Wentzel. The couple shared 48 years of marriage on October 9, 2013.
Born in West Reading on September 29, 1945, he was a son of the late Clarence and Betty Jane (Haviland) Wentzel. He was a 1964 graduate of Reading High School. In 1965, Terry served two years reserve duty in the US Navy and in 1967served two years active duty in the US Navy on board the Robert McCard DD822, which included a fourteen month tour in Viet Nam.
Terry worked with his father when he was younger, learning about HVAC systems. When he returned from the service, he continued schooling before joining the Local Union 420 Steamfitters. Over the years, he was employed with Bortz Mechanical, Medlar-Bohrer Reagan, HT Lyons and eventually retired with the Warko Group as an HVAC tech in June 2013.
Terry enjoyed hunting and camping. He was a member of the Reading Hunting Club and the Good Sam Club.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter whom he lovingly called “Peanut”.
In addition to Terry’s loving wife, Linda; surviving is his daughter, Janine M. Ziegler and her husband, Kenny L. and granddaughter, Olivia P. Ziegler of Mohnton.
Also surviving are Terry’s furry buddies, his two Shih Tzu’s, Oliver and Odie.
A funeral service for Terry will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Saturday from 11 to 12:00pm. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park where full Military Honors will be conducted.
