Walter Russell Baum

He was a torpedo man in the Navy and served in WWII and the Korean War. He was the husband of Dolores (Mertz) Baum, whom he married in 1953.

He was a 1943 Reading High School graduate. Russell was born in Reading, a son of the late Walter B. and Ruth I. (Gudikunst) Baum .

He was self-employed as a heating, plumbing, and air conditioning contractor for 65 years.

Russell is survived by his brother, Douglass B., and his wife, Jennie Baum, and his sister, Marlene Mauger.

He was predeceased by his son, Kevin R. Baum on September 26, 2014, and his 3 brothers: Donald S. Baum, Robert Baum, James Baum; and his 2 sisters, Naomi Mest and Helen (Dolly) Kremp.

Services will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Auman's Inc., Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Viewing will be 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
