

Yolanda (Borghetti) DeMaio, 88, of Reading, passed away in the Sanatoga Center, Pottstown on Saturday, August 1, 2015. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Joseph DeMaio. Thomas sadly passed away on November 26, 1983.
Born in Ortona, a Province of Chieti in the region of Arbuzzo, Italy on February 2, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Raffaele and Elvira (Nervegna) Borghetti.
Yolanda came to America with her husband, Thomas and she taught herself how to speak and read English from playing Bingo and learning the letters in the alphabet. She also taught herself how to drive. When Thomas was living, the couple liked to travel to Florida over the summer holiday and stay in their home there. Yolanda loved her friends and family and she enjoyed traveling back to Italy to visit.
Surviving are her two sisters in Italy, Maria Carmela (Borghetti) Marino and Nerina (Borghetti) Baldissarri; three nephews, Mario Marino, Angelo Baldissarri and Gudo Baldissarri and three nieces, Marcella Primavera, Bianca Primavera and Paola Primavera.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Thomas; Yolanda is predeceased by a sister, Miranda (Borghetti) Primavera.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10am in the Chapel of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 2427 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606. Friends will be received in the church chapel on Friday from 9:30am until the time of mass. Yolanda will be laid to rest next to Thomas in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
