Ellis T. Booth of Redding, CA, April 24th, 1923 - March 23rd, 2016Ellis T. Booth of Redding, CA. passed away March 23rd, 2016 at the age of 92. Born in Red Oak, Oklahoma and the last of 9 children, Ellis moved to California in 1940.After serving the U.S. Army and becoming a P.O.W for 6 months in Germany during WWII, Ellis received (among many other medals) the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Eventually, he was knighted for his service during and since the war by the French government's consulate of San Francisco, here in Redding. He was considered a hero, both on and off the field of battle. After the Army, he worked for Kimberly Clark Lumber for 35 years, retiring only to go on to build high performance hotrod engines for another ten years. He truly lived every second. He married his lovely wife Frances over forty years ago, and together made many trips across our great nation to visit and remind family of his and her undying love, and constant wanderlust. He is survived by Frances, his daughter Karen and her daughter Tayler, his (since deceased) son Jim's kids; Ron, Allan, Richie, Michelle, Shanna (and her three boys Dylan, Gavin and Nathan), Joshua, Jamie, and Adam, along with multiple other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his service, his kind, gentle, generous and genuinely funny character was and forever will be respected, and now missed dearly.
Arrangements under the direction of Lawncrest Memorial Chapel, Redding, CA.
