John David Ratliff

Our Father, John David Ratliff passed away on August 25, 2025 in Redding, Ca. He was born in Fresno, CA on October 9, 1937. He was Student Body President & played football at Taft High School. He then played quarterback at Taft College. His team were champions, went to the Orange Bowl & won. He married Judy Allen & graduated from Fresno State University, with his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He then went on to teach at Trinity High School in Weaverville, CA. He had three children, Jennifer Ratliff, Jill Ratliff, and James Ratliff (Jim) & two step-children, Stephanie Currier and John Bell. He was a teacher at Trinity High School for 20 years & coached multiple sports teams. In football, his team went undefeated 2 years in a row, and won the state championship 2 years in a row. He was also the Athletic Director for several years. After retiring from teaching & coaching, he was an executive salesman for many years until retiring for good. He enjoyed the outdoors & was an avid fisherman. He was a strong christian man of faith and was a kind & gentle soul whom everyone liked & loved. We all can't wait to see him in Heaven!! Children: Jennifer Ratliff, Jill Ratliff, James Ratliff, Stephanie Currier and John Bell. Grandchildren: Nathaniel Whitledge, Matthew Ratliff, Addison Currier, Blake Currier and Eugene Bell. Great Grandchildren: Aria Whitledge, Nathaniel Jr. Whitledge, Atreyu Whitledge and Nevaeh Whitledge.
