Thank you for being our Grandpa and thank you for all the great memories we have together. Thank you for supporting us in all of our sports and activities we have ever had. Thank you for always asking  how school was going and if we were getting good grades. You are missed by many trust me there are way more than you thought there was. We will never forget the memories we had.

RIP Dad, I will always cherish the memories and time that we had together. You were the best Dad that anybody could have asked for. You taught me how to be a man and how important family is. I loved watching my kids grow up with you, and you were a great Grandpa and my kids loved being with you and all the values that you passed on to them. You were an example to everyone that you came in contact with. You made my childhood fun and were always there for me in so many ways. You were always there to help not only me, but countless others. You will be so dearly missed and always remembered DAD....

It was a beautiful service for John and I am very happy I could be there. John was a good and decent man always! I am proud to call John Shelp as my  Grandpa. He was such an example to me and my family and I know that he has been one to all of you guys also. He is a such a great guy who is always so happy and willing to serve anyone. He will truly be missed and I will cherish the many memories I have of him!

So sorry to hear the news of John and you are in our prayers during this difficult time.  His friendship & support will be missed.

RIP Uncle John.  Lots of memories growing up with you and Uncle Jim.  And that elk hunting trip where we almost got snowed in - well that will always be a cherished memory for me.  My best to the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dolly, John, Tom and all of their families.  John was a special man who was extremely kind hearted
And compassionate for others.  He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

I am sending my condolences to all the Shelp Family.  I got to know John at the Fire Department where I was a fireman too.  John seemed to always have a smile on his face and was a great conversationalist. My wife Pam also sends her condolences. May John Rest In Peace.

John was one of the best and decent men I have known in my lifetime, he will be truly missed!!!! He was an awesome husband, father, brother, son and for me a great friend who was always concerned for everyone. He would do things for people even if they did not ask. His path in loving his neighbor and picking up his cross and following is just exactly what Jesus calls us all to do, John was just better at it than most. I pray for the repose of his soul, God is merciful and I hope he can see the face of God with all the Angels and Saints! We miss you already John.

I don't think many of us think about how much time we will have with our spouse, child or friend... until they are gone.  This is by far one of those times when I tell myself..."why did I not call John and Dolly and go and see them"?"   I go by your street on my way home from Anderson and think about stopping.  I didn't.  I am sad that I did not get to spend some time with the two of you in these later years.  When we were young we spent time together at weddings, baby showers, tupperware parties and BBQ's.  I would see you Dolly, at Mervyns' for many years when you were there.  
Running into you at Penney's two years ago, I thought to myself, "now there is a couple that stayed married and really love each other".  Many of us have a few  marriages under our belt.  
What I take away from this is.... now when I think of someone that I should call,   I will,  when I think of someone I should stop in and see, I will.  Even if I don't have my make up on, my hair fixed just right or I am driving the little beater truck not the nice car.  
Life is too short and we must remind ourselves that we can really make someone's day by just stopping in and saying "HI".  A smile and a hello goes a long long way.  

Love to you Dolly  and please know for sure that you can call me anytime, any day, I am only two miles aways.

John was my boss and friend for many years at Industrial Electric.  He will be truly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dolly and the rest of the family.

I could not have asked for a better father in law. John was kind, loving, and always made me smile. I loved watching him play with Tad & Trent. He was a great gramps! I will miss him dearly and treasure the memories.

John was an out standing man and employee   
who really understood electric motors and a first class shop foreman. I will miss him as a friend.

Dolly and family, so sorry to hear about John. As you know he came to work with me at Industrial Electric Service 42 years ago this spring from the 76 Service station in Anderson. The first 10 years I was teaching him about electric motors, the last 32 years he was teaching me. I am missing him already as a business associate, motor expert, a pastrami sandwich lunch partner, and a very exceptional personal friend.

 I am so sorry for your loss, my family is praying for your family. I learned so much working with John through the years and really had fun doing it. He will be greatly missed by all.

My condolences to the Shelp family.  John was my friend and my brother in Christ.  I learned a lot from John which made me a better electrician.  He and I would work on motors together and then go out to lunch and eat Pastrami sandwhichs.  We were always on the lookout for a great Pastrami sandwhich.  It was my privelege for him to call me his friend.

Dolly, I'm so sorry for your loss.  He was a great guy.

For years, John came out to Paul Bunyan Lumber and help us balance our band mill wheels.  He was a lot of fun to be around and was one of the nicest fellows I had ever met.  My condolences to his family.

Dolly, my wonderful friend.  My thoughts remind me of Happy times with John.  Looking into his eyes as they danced with excitement on looking forward to his first date with you.  How proud he was to own that beautiful blue camero.  My heart feels warm has I can see his smile and  feel that heart felt hug he gave. John, I will miss you, after almost 50 years it's hard to say good bye to your friend so I won't, I'll just say see ya later.

Although my heart is deeply sadden,I am smiling as I remember my dear friend John. I believe that life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but in the little things that we do for each other which are what preserve the heart as we walk our life journey together. John, always showed passion in his eyes when he was  speaking to you, letting your know how important your words were to him. I also remember being instrumental, in getting he and Dolly together. Sorry to hear about John he was a great guy. We briefly worked together in the 90's but worked closely as I used Industrial Electric often. I trusted John's expert advice on electrical problems, He will be greatly missed.
