Leolia Dawson

December 13, 1933 - November 17, 2014

Leolia was a devoted wife, and was preceded in death by her husband Edward Dawson and two children Jerry Dawson and David Dawson. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Leolia Dawson, 80, gently passed Monday, November 17th, 2014. She was at home, peacefully surrounded by family. She was born to the late Steve and Helen Middleton in Harlan, Kentucky. Leolia is survived by eight children: Edward S. Dawson, Marjorie Gordon, Pauline St. Jean and Edward C. Dawson all of Redding, CA., Beatrice Olivo and husband Paul Olivo of New London, CT, Phillip Dawson of Groton, CT., Leolia Dawson and husband Brett Crowe of Portland, OR., Judy and William Middleton of Dryden, VA., and 14 grandchildren: Mel, James and Daniel Matchette. Chantele Rodriquez and Rennee Brown. Natalie, Brett, and Adrien Crowe. Angel, Ira and Joshua Middleton. Jerry, Albert, Eddie, Melissa and Amanda Dawson. Leolia is also survived by numerous great grandchildren. She loved every one dearly. Her contagious laugh will always be in our hearts. She was a woman who held family above all else. She devoted her life and love to her family. Services will be held at Lawncrest Memorial Chapel on East Cypress Ave. Viewing services will be held Wednesday, November 19th, from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20th, at 9am. -
