Michael John Hayward Jr.

Michael was born on February 24, 1997 in Redding, California to Michael and Lawana Hayward. He was a proud Wintu Native, as well as, a proud member of his tribe. He was a very active young man who loved Wrestling, basketball, football, and he loved to workout with his family and friends.Michael believed in putting family first, which he lived everyday until his last. He was greatly involved in his cultural background, which he beaded necklaces, participated in the annual Ancestral Runs, Sweats, and was the youngest to take the three day Vision Quest on top of Mt. Chanchelulla. In the immensely short time that Michael was with us, he touched countless people with his kind, loving, and wise spirit. He was generous without judgement and set an example for all of us to follow.

Michael will always be loved and remembered by his mother Lawana, father Michael, sister Malia, sister Chantel, brother Cody, brother in-law Josh, sister in-law Kristi, along with his vast family of aunt, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.

Services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:00am at the Redding Rancheria Community Center.
