Shirley June Kolstad, 83, was born to Augustus and Jesse Cox on June 5, 1927 in Big Bend, California. She worked as the Postmaster in Big Bend, but her real love was her family. She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker, taking care of her family.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 63 years Ed Kolstad; children Ken Kolstad, Elaine Traverso, Debbie Nowak, Betty Kolstad; brothers Lawrence Cox, James Cox, Jerry York; sisters Gladys Pringle and Christine Bracken; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Al Cox and Bill Cox; sisters Nellie Gurr, Betty Nichols and Mary York.
A memorial service will be held in Shirley's honor on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Round Mountain Community Center. In lieu of flower arrangements please send potted plants or donations may be made to:
