Daniel James Barber

5 mars 195615 octobre 2020

REDFORD-Daniel James Barber was born March 5, 1956 and went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2020. Beloved father of Daniel J. Barber II "Danny". Loving brother of Maryfran, IHM, Theresa Pacurari, Margaret Barber and Greg Barber. Dear uncle of Joe Barber, Michael Barber, James Pacurari and the late Samantha. Dearest great uncle of Sophia Pacurari. Co parent with Genevieve Barber.

Dan always worked hard to provide for his family. He worked for the US Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration and practiced as a CPA for several major accounting firms. He was a Wayne State and U of D alum, his son Danny also followed in his legacy. He loved working in his yard, watching sports, and keeping up on the news. Dan served his community as a member of the Redford Elks Lodge and was elected Exalted Ruler in 1999. Daniel was a man for others and always put everyone before himself. His greatest accomplishment was being a father to his son Danny who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 24, 2020 at 2:30 pm, at University of Detroit Jesuit High School. 8400 S. Cambridge Ave, Detroit MI 48221. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to U of D Jesuit High School and Academy in Daniel’s honor.”

I worked with Dan on the successful criminal prosecution of a labor/retirement and securities fraud matter at the U.S. Attorney’s Office ten years ago. Dan’s outstanding work on that case was invaluable. He not only was a highly skilled auditor/accountant/analyst, but he was a true gentleman who treated all with fairness, respect and kindness. Subsequently, our paths crossed at University of Detroit Jesuit H.S., where our sons attended, Dan always was upbeat and had a good word to say whenever we met.

May he Rest In Peace.
