So sorry for your loss. Margaret was a friend of mine, very nice lady. 

I had the pleasure of meeting Margaret a few years ago at the AOH. We often sat together at the Friday night fish fries with my wife Joyce and her friend Ed. What a kind and generous lady she was, always asking everyone if they needed anything. I met her 2 children Maureen and Rich and they are as nice as she was. It will be hard attending any functions at the AOH and not seeing Margaret's smiling face anymore. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

May Margaret Rest In Peace. I will miss her at the LAOH gatherings. She was a very kind and gentle woman. 

My parents were good friends of Rick and Margaret when we all lived in Redford. We spent a lot of time playing at each other's homes and getting to know everyone's parents.  I remember Mrs Desmond always with a smile and always laughing. She truly enjoyed her family and friends.  I appreciate how much Maureen and Rich doted on their parents, especially their mom. Rest in peace, Mrs. Desmond, and thank you for helping create many fun memories of our old Redford neighborhood.

Although I never knew her family, I send my sincere and heartfelt wishes to you for healing peace and loving memories. Your Mom was one of my elementary teachers and she had such a gentle, caring spirit that lifted all of us up—each and every day. And her luminous smile and laughter was contagious. She sure knew how to enjoy life, and I think, even in those youngest of our years, we tucked those feelings away until we used them in our later years. 

Rest in God’s peace, Mrs Desmond. You’ll ALWAYS be a special treasure to so many lives you touched. Thank you for caring about us, teaching us about life, and most of all, loving us. We’ll miss you. So much.  ❤️

Mrs. Desmond was one of several cherished teachers from St. Alphonsus.  I was lucky to have had her during the 1973-74 school year for 6th grade.  She always made class challenging, yet enjoyable and had an excellent rapport with her students.   I remember her often, and fondly. 

May she rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon her.

Oh dear, Mrs. Desmond.  
You will be so missed.  I'm happy we've seen one another in recent years at a couple of funeral visitations.  My extremely strong memory of you is you reading aloud Follow My Leader to our 4th grade class at St. Alphonsus.  I just did some math.  In 1964, you were a young, beautiful 23-year-old, and we a room full of impressionable 9-year-olds.  And boy, were we impressed.  I was spellbound by the story, and have thought about it often over the years.
I have thought about the way you endeared yourself to us kids.  I, for one, felt you were like another Mom to us.  
In recent years, I've enjoyed you "liking" my Facebook posts - mostly Irish - and every time, I could just see your smile.  
I'm so happy you have seen the face of God.  Enjoy your reward, I look forward to seeing you again.  God bless.  ♥ Betsy Connolly

More than 50 years ago, Aunt Margaret's daughter (and my cousin) Maureen and I were in the backseat of someone's station wagon.  I don't remember where we were going, but I remember that my favorite aunt could always be counted on to come up with games and songs to  keep us entertained. She taught us to sing "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." 
My deepest condolences to Maureen, Rich, and all of her grand- and great grandchildren. Margaret was a true ray of sunshine.
