After high school, she began a position at Washington Mutual Bank in the Contracts Department, and then held various office positions until she retired from Seattle Door in Kirkland, Wa. Her most important position, however, was bringing up her family as a single mom.
Dainie enjoyed reading, music, theater and regular trips to ocean beaches. The books she took on increased in length as she aged, the last of which she read was nearly 1500 pages. She was recognized by King County Library System with a gold library card signifying she read over 100 books a year. Her love for music seemed to have few boundaries, as she would listen to anything with a respective ear. Her favorites, though, were standard jazz songs and Willie Nelson. She was crazy about jewelry, and loved anything with birds or the color green. Her love of the beach never ended. Even in her last years, she dreamed of returning to the beach and enjoyed discussing the smell of the sea and the feeling of sand under her feet.
She was proud of both her Italian heritage and her patriotic spirit. She was fluent in Italian, and even taught her children greetings and phrases at an early age.
She was a wonderful mother and close friend to her children. Her ability to keep the household running while still providing trips to after school programs, rides for our friends, and happiness at Christmas were all transparent to her children. Who could ask for anything more?
She is survived by her children Jennifer Krigbaum (Jim) and Brian (Lisa) and their families, all of Woodinville, WA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Seattle Children’s Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
