Mardell was a resident of Lynnwood, Washington. She grew up in Kirkland, Washington, graduating from Lake Washington High School.
Mardell is preceded in death by her husband Harold and her son Mark Renninger. She is survived by her sons David (Jamie) Renninger, Glenn Renninger, her grandchildren Lacey Renninger, Crystal Heideman, Collin, Terin (Tori) and Colton Renninger, her sister Bonnie (Bruce) Harney, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mardell was a phenomenal artist who loved color and delighted in quilting. Angels guided her hands as she performed the most intricate kind of sewing. She loved her family and writing letters to family members in Pennsylvania. She loved Jesus most of all.
