

Wedzell Escott, age 83, peacefully transitioned from his earthly life on February 14, 2026. Born on September 29, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama he lived a life of Faith, Family, Service & Passion. He was the first child of Rev. and Mrs. Wedzell Escott. Wedzell was born three minutes before his twin brother Wardell Escott and immediately became the "big brother". He was the elder twin and the oldest of thirteen children.
After earning his High School Diploma at Western-Olin High School, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was employed with the City of Los Angeles as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 35 years before retiring to enjoy traveling and visiting family and friends.
He proudly served in the United States Military during the Vietnam War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
A lover of classic car enthusiast and lover of smooth jazz music. He also enjoyed all sports and was a huge "Lakers" fan and supporter. He cherished time with his family.
He was widowed and preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mae Escott.
