In Reedley, California on April 28, 2025 our beloved mother, Carol Eymann Just, at age 94 was called home to be with the Lord. She now rests in the arms of the Savior, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty. There are no words to express how grateful we are for Palm Village Retirement Community’s care of her over the past five months and of late, Hinds Hospice.

Carol was born on February 2, 1931 to Earl Ivan and Meta Leisy Eymann in Reedley, California. In early life, Carol was surrounded by her parents, sister and brother, together with her Eymann grandmother, uncles, aunts and cousins along Reed Avenue. Carol attended the First Mennonite Church, Reedley schools and was active in music, sports and drama, in addition to her studies. Carol furthered her education at Occidental College, University of the Pacific and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
On June 14, 1952, Carol married Kenneth Leroy Just in Heidelberg, Germany. Kenneth was serving in the United States Army during the post-World War II occupation in Germany. Following an honorable discharge from the United States Army, the couple settled in Los Angeles and ultimately to Reedley to raise their family and join the community. Carol’s love was being a homemaker and mother/grandmother in rural central California. A healthy and active lifestyle contributed to Carol living independently until age 93.
With her ancestry Swiss-German Mennonite heritage, Carol was active in her local church, joined in the choir and volunteered in community service organizations, including the Reedley Historical Society and the Reedley Drama Club. As a vivacious, social and outgoing individual, she loved all people and showed gentleness from the elderly to the young and in difficult circumstances. Carol deeply enjoyed traveling, experiencing other cultures and people throughout the world. Carol was a woman of unwavering faith, whose love for the Lord shone through her kindness, compassion and positive attitude. She had unyielding trust in God’s goodness and plan. Carol raised her children in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to do their best every day, remain positive and to love, serve and trust in Him always.
