
John Rogalsky, a lifelong resident of Fresno County and a steadfast pillar of its educational community, passed away peacefully in Fresno on November 20, 2025, at the age of 91. His life was defined by devotion—to his family, to the students and educators he served, and to the community he cherished from his very first days to his last.
Born and raised in Fresno County, John built a remarkable 56-year career in education, culminating in his role as Superintendent of Schools. He believed deeply in the power of learning and dedicated his life to creating opportunities for generations of young people. Through his leadership, kindness, and unwavering optimism, he shaped countless lives and helped strengthen the foundation of education across the region.
John shared a beautiful, enduring marriage with his beloved wife, Frances Rogalsky, who remains the heart of their family. Together, they raised children who carry forward their father’s values of compassion, service, and integrity.
John is survived by:

His daughter Peggy Foster and her husband Jim Foster
His son Scott Rogalsky and his wife Kelly Rogalsky
His daughter Ann Guerrero and her husband Randy Guerrero
Nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Brand, whose memory he held close to his heart, and he is further survived by Cheryl’s husband, Greg Brand.
To those who knew him, John will be remembered for his warm smile, his steady guidance, and the deep pride he took in both his family and his work. His legacy lives on in the schools he enriched, the lives he touched, and the family who will forever honor his remarkable journey.
