Mary Ellis Garcia

Daughter, mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother- a woman who loved well and was deeply loved. Mary Garcia was called home in the early morning hours of December 23, 2025 at the age of 76.

Mary was born on May 22, 1949. She was one of four children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe & Johnny Carabajal, her brother Johnny Carabajal and her granddaughter Erica Escalera.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Lawrence Garcia; her three daughters, Patricia Torres and her husband, Joe Torres; Margie Ponce and her husband, Mario Ponce; and Guadalupe De La Cruz and her husband, Julian De La Cruz; sisters, Debbie Hernandez, and Jenny Carabajal (Garcia); 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mary was the heart of her family, a steady presence whose love held everyone together. She had an infectious laugh that could brighten any room and a way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for. She enjoyed cheering on her Redskins and listening to her favorite corridos, but above all else, she treasured time spent with her family. Her love, strength, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
