September 15, 1930 – April 16, 2025
With hearts full of gratitude and love, we remember the life of Porfirio Coronado Cano, affectionately known by friends as “Papa,” “Daddy,” “Buelito,” or simply “Pilo” by those closest to him. Born in Mexico on September 15, 1930, Porfirio embodied the American dream—bringing with him not only the hopes of a better future, but the enduring values of hard work, humility, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Porfirio spent the majority of his life working in agriculture, laboring under the sun with hands that never tired when it came to providing for his family. He did not measure success in material wealth, but in the strength of his family and the values he passed down through generations: integrity, resilience, kindness, and a deep, abiding love.
A devoted partner to Agustina S. Garcia, his love story spanned decades—marked by commitment, faith, and the creation of a beautiful legacy. Together they raised seven children: Maria del Rosario Cano-Dumas, Felipe Cano, Miguel Angel Cano, Carolina Cano, Margarita Hernandez, Sofia Cuan, and Porfirio Gabriel Cano. From this strong foundation grew 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren—each a living testament to the seeds of love, strength, and perseverance he planted.
Porfirio’s legacy isn’t just found in the stories we tell or the memories we cherish—it's found in every early morning wake-up, every family meal shared, every word of encouragement whispered into a grandchild’s ear. He was the backbone of his family, and his wisdom continues to guide them forward.
“Lo queremos mucho, ya descanse, Papa…”
Rest now, Pilo. You’ve earned your peace. We will carry your lessons in our hearts, and your spirit in our lives—forever.
