Steven Forster Abbott transitioned to ultimate peace on November 4, 2024. At age 77, he went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Born July 21, 1947 in Salinas, California to Forster and Harriett Abbott, Steve spent most of his life in Salinas. Graduating from Salinas High School in 1965 he then served as an Aircraft Radio Technician in the US Air Force during The Vietnam War. Steve attended Fresno State and in 1977 began work at Moss Landing Power Plant as a chemist, where he retired as an Environmental Coordinator in 2012. During retirement he volunteered for LifeLine in Salinas. Steve enjoyed serving and encouraging others. Spending time with his children and grandchildren outdoors camping and hiking brought him great joy. For many years he participated in Wagon’s Ho, a monthly camping group, where he served as preacher for several years. His greatest love was Jesus Christ. More than anything, Steve would delight in knowing you took time to remember him by reading the Bible or joining his church family at Calvary Chapel in Salinas for a morning service. He is survived by his children, Scott and Linzy, Audra and Ed; two grandsons, Luke and Jesse; and brother, Alvin Abbott.
