It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our rock and hero Adolph William Fischer on January 22nd, 2021 at the age of 72. During the past three years, Adolph dealt with many health challenges but just as he dealt with all experiences in life, Adolph managed these challenges with strength, grace and with his beautiful smile on his face. In Adolph’s final days he fought as hard as he loved, which was intensely. Adolph loved people and you would often find him talking to anybody who would listen, whether he knew them or not. Those who met him knew how amazing he was just by seeing the genuine smile on his face; his smile filled the room.
Adolph is predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary, parents-in-law Bill and Gwen Cannon, brother Pius, sister-in-law Sue, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Neil and Delores, and son-in-law Daryl.
He is lovingly remembered, by the love of his life for 49 years Susan Fischer, his daughters Shonna and Tara, son Kyle (Grant), and his best buddy Mister. Adolph also leaves to mourn his sisters, Doreen (Nick), Amelia (Joe), brothers, Jerry (Clare), Richard (Annie), Bob (Cathy), Neil (Carla), sister-in-law Joan, as well his sister-in-law Brenda, and brother-in-laws Bill (Anne), Peter (Maxine) along with numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn all that loved him and that was many.
Adolph enjoyed a long career at Sifto Salt Plant in Unity, SK, retiring in 2014 to Regina, SK to spend his retirement years with his children. Adolph loved his family so much and beamed with pride when he spoke of his children. There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for his family and there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for him. As we move through this life, in Adolph’s honour please remember that time is the one thing in life we will never get back so live for today because tomorrow is not promised, and always lead every day with a smile.
As a family, we would like to send a special thank you to the staff of 3-3 at Wascana Rehab for caring for Adolph during the past year, especially to Janelle and Lance who truly saw the man he was.
Please consider sending donations in Adolph’s name to the Diabetes Association of Canada https://diabetes.ca/donate and the Heart and Stroke Foundation https://www.heartandstroke.ca/how-you-can-help/ways-to-give
