Adriana Wesdyk

Adriana Wesdyk (Van Dorp) was born on October 11, 1939, in Epe, Netherlands, to Cornelis and Adriana Van Dorp. She passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 86, with her family by her side. Adriana is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leendert M Wesdyk, and her children Stanley (Lynette), Corina, and Martin (Richelle). Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Parents: Cornelis & Adriana Van Dorp-Dijkshoorn of Epe, Netherlands.

• Brother: Gerrit “Gary” Van Dorp (Grace Van Dorp-Schipper) of Burdett, Alberta.

• Gerrit’s first wife, Boukje Van Dorp-Van der Meer, who tragically passed in 1975.

• Brother: Paul Van Dorp (Bets Van Dorp-Houtman) of Heede, Netherlands.

• Sister: Saar Veldkamp-Van Dorp (survived by Berend Veldkamp) of Heese, Netherlands.

• Sister: Arendje Bremer-Van Dorp (Piter Bremer) of Nes, Netherlands.

Adriana, also known as Audrey, grew up on a farm with five siblings in Epe, Netherlands. She pursued nursing school in the Netherlands and began her nursing career there. In 1968, she planned to do missionary work in Suriname but stopped in Canada to visit her brother Gerrit in Indian Head. During a church service, she met Marina Wesdyk, who introduced her to her son Leendert Wesdyk. Adriana and Leendert married in the summer of 1970 and settled in Regina, Saskatchewan, purchasing a home in 1971. They had three children: Stanley (born 1972), Corina (born 1976), and Martin (born 1978). Adriana became a Canadian citizen in 1975 and dedicated herself to raising her children before returning to work in home care services, assisting the elderly. A visitation will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, located at 2080 Victoria Ave E, Regina, Saskatchewan, on December 30, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service is scheduled for December 31, 2025, at Sonlight Christian Reformed Church, 139 Cannon St, Regina, Saskatchewan, starting at 1:00 pm.
