Andrew George Benko

October 12, 1949 – July 14, 2012

Andy passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family after a strong and brave fight against cancer at 62 years old. Born in Lestock, Saskatchewan, Andy grew up and lived his life on the land that he loved just north of Cupar. Predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Helene, Andy is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Elaine, their sons Chad ( Catherine) and Brad (Jackie) and the “apple of his eye” grandson Cade, sister Karen(Ralph) Kirchhofer, brother George (Carol), brother in-law Bernie (Alleda) Orban , sister in-law Dorothy Kurtz,(Harold/predeceased), numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. An incredible ”thank you” to the Regina hospitals staff , in particular the people at Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Unit 3B, and the Palliative Unit, Pasqua, for their kind, professional and

heartwarming care. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cupar SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Andy can be made to the Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4F-4101 Dewdney Ave. Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
